SAN FRANCISCO, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of
industry-leading 3D animation and video products, announced today that
LightWave 3D is the exclusive 3D animation software being used by Exile Films
to create computer graphics and special effects for their upcoming
feature-length computer-animated film, BloodQuest: The Movie.
"LightWave 3D has proven itself again and again in all the productions
I've worked on," said Simon Coombs, co-founder of Exile Films. "When choosing
a software package for BloodQuest, we considered LightWave, and we also looked
very closely at the competition. Essentially, we saw nothing that would tempt
us away from a tool and a company that we've grown to trust and rely on.
LightWave has it all."
"We are very happy to have Exile Films working with LightWave 3D on this
film, as we feel it will be an excellent showcase of the software's
capabilities. Additionally, Exile Films' choice to outfit all of the
animators with the Video Toaster NT will mean that the film will really
highlight what NewTek can offer as a complete production solution," said
Brad Peebler, vice president of 3D graphics for NewTek.
BloodQuest: The Movie is based on the immensely popular Warhammer 40,000
universe, created by Games Workshop. The movie will feature the characters of
"BloodQuest," which include Blood Angel Space Marines, in a dark and
disturbing future world. Exile Films will produce and market the film.
The founding members of Exile Films are experienced computer animators and
have been working with NewTek's products for over a decade, on such projects
as "GoldenEye" "Lost in Space", "Star Trek" and "Starship Troopers."
