UniXpress USB Port Replicator Provides More Options for Attaching Computer
Peripherals Than a Docking Station or Traditional Port Replicators,
Including VGA & Dual-PC Support
IRVINE, Calif., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile business users who go on
frequent business trips with their notebook or laptop computer know when they
return to the office they will face the headache of connecting and
reconnecting their system to exchange information and take advantage of
existing desktop computer peripherals.
Unfortunately, various products designed to address this problem have
never been fully satisfactory. A docking station is proprietary and works with
only one specific laptop model. Most USB port replicators are non-proprietary,
but don't function with a Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector -- the
connector between the PC and desktop monitor.
Fortunately, a vital missing link in notebook evolution has been
developed -- the UniXpress USB Port Replicator from Addlogix of Irvine, Calif.
"UniXpress bridges the worlds of VGA, USB and non-USB computer peripherals
to the notebook with one single USB cable," says Matthew Chang, Addlogix
Marketing Manager. "For the first time, users can achieve 1280 x 1024
resolution via a USB connection from their laptop to a monitor or even use a
third screen without adding a video card."
The UniXpress USB Port Replicator works on any Windows-based notebook or
PC. Mobile users connect the VGA display, Ethernet, speakers, USB printers and
other peripherals to UniXpress. All interface with the computer via one single
USB cable.
UniXpress has several unique features including adding a second monitor
without installing video graphics cards. For instance, you can have Word
running on the laptop screen and an Excel spreadsheet on an external monitor
simultaneously.
UniXpress is the only port replicator that supports video resolution of
1280 x 1024. Its patent pending graphics engine provides jitter-free DVD
playback. The VGA port provides three modes of video support:
1) Duplication mode (same image appears on notebook and second monitor)
2) Extended mode (different images on each screen)
3) Primary mode (acts as the only display). Primary mode allows you to
use a desktop monitor in place of a laptop screen.
