A Year of Success: Improved and Enhanced RSA SecurWorld(TM) Program Enables More Partners to Meet Rapidly-Growing Market Opportunities

    RSA Security's largest-ever investment in the channel pays off with
             hundreds of new partners, record training success

    BEDFORD, Mass., May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- One year after
re-launching its RSA SecurWorld(TM) Channel Program, RSA Security (Nasdaq:
RSAS) today announced that more than 1,200 channel partners around the
world have signed-up in the last 12 months, and that its partners are
better-trained, better-motivated and better-equipped than ever before to
meet the growing market demand for identity protection and enablement
solutions.
    In addition, RSA Security revealed that its move to invest in building
channel partners' expertise has resulted in the completion of an
unprecedented number of sales and technical training courses -- more than
14,000 globally -- by RSA SecurWorld partners since the program re-launch.
This compares with a total of 750 course-completions in the same period
leading up to last May. As part of the program's improvements, the Company
transferred its online sales curriculum onto the RSA SecurWorld Partner
Portal, both to improve access to -- and the usability of -- the training
tools.

their valued input, we would deliver a leading-edge program containing
significant new benefits and considerably greater revenue and profit
opportunities for partners that invest in RSA Security's products and

    One of the major successes of the program is the Deal Registration
initiative, allowing channel partners to register certain potential
opportunities as soon as they are identified -- thus increasing the
likelihood of being rewarded for closing the deal. More than 3,500 deals
have been registered by RSA SecurWorld partners to date.

    Demonstrating both the success of the program and the viability of the
market, more than 85% of RSA Security's existing partners opted to rejoin
the RSA SecurWorld program following the re-launch, and hundreds of new
partners have been added over the last year. The Company plans to build on
its success to date and continue to recruit RSA SecurWorld partners in
every region, offering them the potential for increased new business as
well as up-sell and cross-sell opportunities through the delivery of a
range of RSA SecurID(R) two-factor authentication solutions, the RSA
SecurID(R) for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) secure enterprise access solution
and the RSA(R) Sign-On Manager enterprise single sign-on offering.

    Benefits and enhancements
    The RSA SecurWorld program is designed to offer higher financial
rewards to channel partners that commit resources to selling RSA Security
solutions. Greater rebates are available to RSA SecurWorld partners who
maintain certification and authorization, sell new products and acquire new
customers.
    The company recently announced enhancements to the program that aim to
reward the efforts of individual partner sales executives, as well as
increasing rebate provisions and improving the deal registration program.
These include:
    * RSA SecurWorld Rewards Program: an incentive that will offer cash
      payments onto a Visa debit card available to spend wherever the cards
      are accepted. The card will be used to encourage partners to sell new
      licenses for RSA Security products

    * Solutions Partner Instant Rebate: An upfront 5 percent instant rebate
      available to Solutions Partners in recognition of their commitment to
      technical training and certification

    * Deal Registration enhancements: designed to provide greater rewards for
      partners generating new business and those selling a broader range of
      RSA Security identity and access management products into existing and
      new customer accounts

    * Solutions Partner Business Planning Tool: a means of facilitating the
      development of mutual business through sales and marketing engagement
