IRVING, Texas, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Michaels Stores, Inc.
(NYSE: MIK) announced today that Thomas M. Bazzone has been appointed
President of the Company's growing ReCollections and Star Decorators Wholesale
Warehouse subsidiaries, managing all aspects of the Company's scrapbooking
retail stores and its wholesale business. He joined Michaels Stores, Inc. on
May 10, 2004, and reports directly to Michael Rouleau, Chief Executive
Officer.
Bazzone, 37, brings a wealth of retail experience to the position, serving
most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and
Director of Restoration Hardware. Prior to that, he served as President and
Chief Operating Officer of RedEnvelope and as Vice President, Merchandise
Operations, for Williams-Sonoma. He graduated from Syracuse University with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management in 1988. He began his
retail career as a store associate with Grossman's, Inc. in Canton, MA,
assuming positions of increasing responsibility, including the role of
Merchandise Manager, Building Materials.
Mr. Bazzone said, "I'm pleased to become the newest member of the Michaels
