SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J., May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PTC Therapeutics,
Inc. (PTC), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development,

control mechanisms, today announced the promotion of William "Chip" Baird to
the newly-created position of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Baird, who joined
PTC in 2002, most recently held the position of Vice President, Finance and
Strategic Planning.

Prior to joining PTC, Mr. Baird was an Engagement Manager at L.E.K.

prioritization, and merger and acquisition opportunities. Before L.E.K., Mr.
Baird spent several years working at First Union Bank, originating,
underwriting, and structuring debt facilities to middle-market and large
corporate borrowers. Mr. Baird holds an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton
Business School and a B.S. from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service.
