Vitex to Present at the Fourth Annual Needham Biotechnology Conference

    WATERTOWN, Mass., May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- V.I. Technologies, Inc.
(Nasdaq: VITX) ("Vitex" or "the Company"), a biotechnology company dedicated
to developing the next generation of anti-infective products, has been invited
to speak at the Fourth Annual Needham Biotechnology Conference, to be held at
The Palace Hotel in New York City on Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Vitex's
presentation is scheduled to begin that day at 2:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight
Time.  Dr. Samuel K. Ackerman, Chairman and CEO of Vitex, will present.
