    MOORESVILLE, N.C., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Lowe's announced today that
each of its Florida stores will offer free daily How-To Clinics and
distribute vital information to customers during the state's second annual
Hurricane Preparedness Tax Free Holiday, May 21-June 1.

The tax-free holiday coincides with National Hurricane Preparedness
Week and presents Floridians with the opportunity to stock up on items for
the upcoming hurricane season while also taking advantage of Lowe's
hurricane- specific classes and free Severe Weather Guides.
"Most Floridians need no reminder of the potential damage presented by
hurricanes," said Jim Frasso, senior vice president, Southeast store
operations for Lowe's. "We commend the Florida House, Senate and Governor
Bush for again taking significant measures to encourage Floridians to
safeguard their homes and property before the storm season."
Lowe's Hurricane How-To Clinics will take place daily at 11 a.m. from
May 21-June 1 in all 82 Florida stores. The free clinics will teach
customers how to install hurricane shutters, properly board windows,
generator safety and chainsaw safety.
Free Severe Weather and Natural Disaster Guides and Hurricane Tracking
Maps will be available at all stores. In addition, signage in Lowe's stores
will clearly identify products included in the tax-free holiday, including
generators, carbon monoxide detectors, storm shutters, tarps, gas cans, tie
down kits, batteries, flashlights and first aid kits.
"As hurricane season approaches, protecting your home becomes a
priority. Windows are one of the most vulnerable areas for damage," Frasso
said. "Lowe's is offering not only hurricane shutters, but two new types of
lightweight storm panels for window protection."
Lowe's also offers special 12-months financing with no payments or
interest to make it easier for families to prepare, and guarantees its
everyday low prices on storm preparedness and recovery items that are not
covered by the legislation, such as plywood, tools and ladders.
