Two-Ten Communications and MediaMap Join Forces to Launch Global Media Management System

LONDON, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- A powerful new media management software
tool will be launched this autumn under a major contract, announced today,
between Two-Ten Communications, the UK's premier provider of media and
financial contacts data, and MediaMap, the market leading media data and PR
software supplier in North America.
The two companies have joined forces to develop a multi-functional,
flexible contact management system designed specifically for the public
relations industry in the UK and Europe. MediaMap(TM) will develop its proven
MediaManager(TM) software to Two-Ten Communications' specification for the UK
and European markets. The product will include versions for single user,
network and multiple site applications and will be marketed throughout Europe
by Two-Ten Communications.
The new MediaManager system will combine the strengths of both partners:
Two-Ten Communications maintains the most accurate and extensive database of
UK and European media and financial contacts available; MediaMap supplies the
media management services and software installed at more PR agencies and
corporations throughout North America than any other PR software system.
Clive Marshall, Managing Director of Two-Ten Communications, said: "This
is tremendous news for our customers and for PR professionals everywhere. The
increasing globalisation of the communications business means there is a
growing need for common platforms between PR organisations and their retained
advisors, clients and suppliers. We intend to make MediaManager the de facto
industry standard in the UK and Europe as it is already in the US."
Kirke Curtis, Chief Operating Officer of MediaMap, said: "Many of our
MediaManager customers in the US have international operations. This
partnership will give them the single system solutions they have been waiting
for, and provide, via Two-Ten, immediate access to the best contacts data in
Europe. The combination of MediaMap's expertise in PR workflow systems and
Two-Ten's understanding of the particular requirements of the European
marketplace will revolutionise the lives of PR professionals seeking to
enhance productivity and campaign effectiveness."
MediaManager will replace Two-Ten Communications' existing electronic
media management system, Targeter Gold, offering more sophisticated search
options, a wider range of customisable reporting functions and a more
intuitive, user-friendly front end. Key features include simple mail merge,
forward features tracking, and electronic distribution operations.
The system will incorporate extra functions developed specifically for the
European market, such as the facility to list contact data by town or region,
and to seamlessly import customers' own contact lists.
Three different versions will be launched this autumn. A solo edition is
designed for single users, a workgroups edition for single site network
applications using between two and 15 workstations, and a SQL edition for
larger networks. A fourth Intranet-based version is scheduled for launch in
the New Year. MediaMap is the leading installer of PR Intranet systems in the
U.S.
Two-Ten Communications is enhancing the range and depth of its contact
database to coincide with the launch of the new system, which will carry full
details of UK media contacts from the outset, including information about
individual journalists' preferences and forward features schedules. Plug-in
modules giving complete European media contacts and financial contacts will
follow.
Both partners are recruiting new teams for the launch of MediaManager,
including installation specialists, training and customer services staff and
process consultants to help users make the most of the system's features.
Bill Leask, Research and Development Director, Two-Ten Communications,
said: "MediaManager for Two-Ten will surpass every other product on the
market. Working with MediaMap we are creating a contacts management tool that
no PR organisation of any size will want to be without."
