Preferred Networks, Inc. Aiding Paging Companies Affected by the Industry Satellite Service Interruption

    ATLANTA, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Preferred Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: PFNT)
(PNI), a leading outsourcing services provider to the wireless industry,
reported that in response to the satellite service interruption affecting the
majority of the paging industry today, PNI is working with its customers to
provide network and engineering solutions.
    PNI reported that it experienced no service interruption on its
157.740 MHz networks in the Southeast markets controlled by its Atlanta
Technical Control Center (TCC) and in certain cities controlled by its
Northeast and Mid-Atlantic TCCs.  Service has been restored in several
additional major cities and PNI expects that the majority of its major markets
will be in service by later today.  Less populated markets which were affected
by the satellite interruption may take at least 48 hours to restore to
service.
    PNI currently provides network and engineering services to multiple
wireless companies, including the ten largest paging companies in the country.
PNI's engineering services company, Preferred Technical Services, Inc. (PTS),
is also working today with its customers to assist them in re-establishing
service on their networks.
