Popular Sports and Entertainment Brands Go Mobile, Including WWE Mobile
Madness(TM) and Baseball (working title)
LOS ANGELES, May 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sprint (NYSE: FON, PCS)
and THQ Inc. (Nasdaq: THQI) today announced plans to provide wireless
customers with the ability to play games based on some of the video game,
entertainment and sports industry's most popular franchises on 3G-enabled
PCS phones through the Sprint Third Generation (3G) Network. Sprint,
which operates the largest all-digital, all-PCS nationwide network and is
the fastest growing wireless carrier, will launch the Sprint Third
Generation Network later this summer.

The agreement between THQ and Sprint signals the transition from,
text-based games to graphic, full-color brand name games on a wireless
network.
In addition to WWE Mobile Madness(TM), Snood(R), MotoGP and Baseball
(working title), several popular Intellivsion(TM) brands including
Astrosmash! and Skiing will also be available.

At launch, Sprint expects faster wireless data speeds and
enhancements for existing applications and services when using a
3G-enabled device. The Third Generation Network establishes a platform
for later releases of new and more robust applications as data speeds
increase including advanced games, email with attachments, enhanced
messaging, video and audio clips, high-speed Internet browsing and
digital imaging. Specifically for games, it enables Sprint to move the
game experience from the text-based games of today to graphic, full-color
brand name games on 3G-enabled PCS Phones using the Java 2 platform,
Micro Edition (J2ME(TM)).
