Chris Corrini to Join Edison Schools as Chief Financial Officer

NEW YORK, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Edison Schools announced today that
Christopher P. Corrini will be joining Edison Schools as its new chief
financial officer. He will also serve as an executive vice president of
Edison Schools and as a member of its management committee.
Before joining Edison, Corrini served as chief financial officer of
Brink's Incorporated. Best known for its security transportation, cash
logistics and home security businesses, Brink's is a global company with
revenues of $2 billion, operating in 50 countries. During his ten-year tenure
at Brink's, Chris developed a world-class financial function and played a key
role in the company's three-fold growth in operating profit and revenue.
Prior to Brink's, Chris held senior financial roles at ITT Corporation
(a $20 billion conglomerate with manufacturing, financial services, and
Sheraton hotels), Akzo Nobel (pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and coatings),
Chiquita Brands (consumer food products) and Ernst & Young, where he was an
audit manager.
Chris Whittle, Edison's Founder and CEO, commented on Corrini's
appointment. "We are proud that someone of Chris' caliber will be joining the
Edison team. His record as a financial leader at several complex
organizations gives us confidence that he will serve Edison well, particularly
as we are experiencing significant growth in all aspects of the company and
seeing historic academic gains in our schools and programs."
"It's an exciting time to join Edison," said Corrini. "Edison's first
decade was singularly focused on building a strong company that demonstrated
how the private sector can successfully partner with school districts and
charter school boards to run great schools. Working from that core business,
Edison is now ready to maximize its potential as it builds on its achievement
management, extended learning, and supplemental educational services
businesses."
Corrini graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1974 and received
an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. He
is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Company operates 130 full-year schools and 200 summer schools.
Between 1992 and 1995 and in ongoing efforts, Edison's team of educators
and scholars conducted research to develop its school design and support
systems. Edison opened its first four schools in August 1995 and has achieved
substantial growth since then. For more information, please visit
