MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, May 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AK Steel's (NYSE: AKS)
Coshocton Works received four awards at the Coshocton County Safety Council's
annual awards banquet held last evening. The awards were presented by the
Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and the Coshocton County Chamber of
Commerce, which co-sponsor the Ohio Safety Council program locally.
The awards include: The Group Award for having the lowest incident rate
(0.36) in the industrial group; The 100% Award for operating an entire year
without a lost-time injury; an Achievement Award for reducing the incident
rate by at least 25% (from 0.51 in 2003 to 0.36 in 2004); and, a Special Award
for working 1,351,565 hours, nearly two years, without a lost-time accident.
