NEW YORK, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, an
operating group of SunGard (NYSE: SDS), and Altra Energy Technologies, Inc.,
together with its subsidiaries, today announced a strategic partnership
agreement to create an integrated solution comprised of current best-of-breed
applications for energy trading, risk management and scheduling. Altra's
industry standard scheduling systems, Altra Gas and Altra Power, which
includes power generation, will be integrated with SunGard's leading Epsilon
and Panorama solutions for trading and risk management.
Earlier this year, Altra began evaluating best-of-breed risk management
solutions to offer to its clients. In this process, Altra and SunGard
realized the added value of integrating Altra's industry standard scheduling
software with SunGard's leading risk management solutions.
The alliance gives Altra and SunGard the option to sell the integrated
solution to the energy community. Altra's 200-plus clients will also have the
option to enhance their current Altra Gas and Altra Power software by
integrating SunGard's risk solutions. Altra and SunGard will maintain their
existing relationships with other application software providers in the energy
space and continue to provide the same level of integration services.
