Amarillo Biosciences, Inc. Announces Plans for Entry into the Natural Products Market Place

    AMARILLO, Texas, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Amarillo Biosciences, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: AMAR) (ABI)  announces that it will enter the natural
product market place.  Initially, Amarillo Biosciences will participate in
this rapidly growing market by providing a nutritional supplement which has
been clinically tested and is the subject of a patent application owned by
ABI.
    Vanguard Biosciences, a wholly owned subsidiary of ABI, will oversee the
introduction of products into this market.  Vanguard has executed agreements
with two groups that will provide assistance for the Company's entrance into
this market place.  The first agreement is with the American Institute for
Biosocial and Medical Research (AIBMR) of Puyallup, Washington.  This Company
is a world leader in natural products research and product development.
Alexander Schauss, PhD, CEO of AIBMR, stated, "We look forward to working with
Amarillo Biosciences and its Vanguard subsidiary.  Based on our preliminary
review of their innovative products, we expect natural products and
nutraceutical companies will show considerable interest in using their
products for myriad applications, especially within the dietary supplement
category."
    Wilke Resources of Kansas City, Missouri, was selected as the exclusive
agent for ABI/Vanguard's natural product business.  Wayne Wilke, President of
Wilke Resources, stated, "Wilke Resources is pleased to be selected to be part
of their exciting new technology.  We believe these new concept products from
Amarillo Biosciences offer nutritional supplement solutions to certain
previous underserved markets."
    Joseph M. Cummins, CEO and Chairman of ABI, stated, "We are excited about

place will provide near term revenue growth for ABI and will permit the
Company to continue to develop its ethical biopharmaceutical business."
    Amarillo Biosciences, founded in 1984, is a pioneer in the research and
development of oral and topical cytokines.  The Company is conducting Phase
III clinical trials in the United States testing orally administered low dose
interferon alpha for the treatment of Sjogren's syndrome.  The Company plans
to initiate clinical trials for hepatitis C and Behcet's disease later this
year.  The Company also is developing orally administered gamma and topical
interferon alpha.
