Anastacia to Give Special Encore Performance of 'Boom,' the Official Song of The 2002 FIFA World Cup(TM), During Half Time of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final Match on June 30th in Yokohama, Japan

    NEW YORK, May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Music today announced that Epic
Records recording artist Anastacia will perform "Boom" -- The International
Official Song of the 2002 FIFA World Cup(TM) -- at the Half Time of World Cup
Final Match, which will take place in Yokohama, Japan on June 30th, 2002.
"Boom" was written specially for this year's World Cup by Anastacia and Glen
Ballard, and Anastacia first performed the song during the televised Final
Draw for the 2002 FIFA World Cup(TM) on December 1st, 2001 in Busan, Korea.

    Through an agreement with the Federation Internationale de Football
Association (FIFA), Sony Music developed the Official Music of the 2002 FIFA
World Cup(TM), releasing The International Official Album in Asia territories
in April and May of 2002, and throughout the rest of the world in May and June
of 2002. The album features tracks from artists representing numerous
countries that qualified for the finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup(TM). Sony
Music International is distributing the release through its network of
worldwide affiliates. The host countries for 2002 FIFA World Cup(TM) are Korea
and Japan.
    Anastacia's critically acclaimed second album, "Freak of Nature," was
released internationally on November 26th, 2001, and has sold over 3.5 million
units in less than six months. "Freak of Nature" is due to be released in the
U.S. on June 18, 2002. Anastacia's debut album, "Not That Kind," made the Top
10 Album Charts around the world, earning gold, platinum and multi-platinum
sales status in more than a dozen countries. Now an established, international
