Highly Integrated ESD and EMI Solutions for Latest High Definition Flat Panel
TVs and Mobile Handset Displays
BOSTON, May 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- California Micro Devices
(Nasdaq: CAMD), a leading supplier of application specific analog
semiconductor products for mobile, computing and digital consumer electronics,
will be showcasing its popular Application Specific Integrated Passive(TM)
(ASIP(TM)) solutions for digital television, flat panel monitor and mobile
handset display applications at the Society for Information Display (SID) 2005
International Symposium in Boston.
Designed Into Leading Digital Consumer Electronics and Mobile Applications
California Micro Devices' ASIP(TM) solutions are designed into a broad
range of leading digital flat panel TVs, flat panel monitors and mobile
handset displays, providing the industry's highest levels of electrostatic
discharge (ESD) protection and electromagnetic (EMI) filtering, along with
other functions such as signal termination and level shifting.
First Public Showing of PhotonIC(TM) CM4600 Single Chip LED Drivers
Solution
California Micro Devices will be presenting its PhotonIC(TM) CM4600 single
chip solution supporting main and sub-display backlight LED drivers, camera
flash and RGB LEDs for the latest multimedia wireless handsets. The device is
programmable through a standard I2C interface and integrates all of the above
functions in a space efficient 4mm x 4mm TQFN package. The high level of
integration achieved results in significant part count and space savings.
MediaGuard(TM) HDMI Port Protection Featured
The CM2021 HDMI MediaGuard(TM) port protector provides unparalleled
protection and signal integrity for HDMI receivers, integrating ESD protection
for all 12 data lines using the industry's lowest capacitance (0.9 pF) diodes.
This product integrates backdrive and overcurrent protection as well as very
low capacitance level shifting circuits into a single package that features
improved routing and lower inductance for optimal signal integrity.
CMD to Present at Exhibitors' Forum
California Micro Devices' J. C. Dunnihoo will be making a presentation on
"HDMI Interface Port Protection" on Wednesday, May 25, in Exhibit Hall D, at
11:15 AM.
Other Booth Highlights
Other major applications that California Micro Devices will be presenting
include:
-- ESD solutions featuring the PicoGuard(TM) CM1213 family of ESD diode
arrays, providing up to 8 channels of 8kV contact ESD protection in a
single package, with only 1pF of capacitance -- the industry's lowest
capacitance diode arrays for DVI, HDMI, USB, and IEEE 1394 ports.
-- Praetorian(TM) EMI filter arrays for the latest multimedia wireless
handsets with high data rates between the processor and their high
resolution displays. Groundbreaking Praetorian(TM) process technology
allows the integration of spiral inductors with resistors, capacitors
and ESD protection diodes in a single chip design, providing superior
EMI filtering, high cutoff frequencies, minimal insertion loss, sharp
rolloff and greater levels of attenuation at high frequencies.
-- Centurion(TM) low capacitance EMI filters for wireless handset high
speed color LCD interfaces. California Micro Devices' proprietary
Centurion(TM) advanced zener process technology provides enhanced EMI
filtering performance, greater ESD protection and dramatically lower
capacitance levels.
