Airline Continues to Enhance Its Year-Old Frequent Flyer Program With
Innovative Features
TEMPE, Ariz., May 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways (NYSE: LCC)
continues to make its award-winning frequent flyer program even more
rewarding by announcing a new benefit for Dividend Miles Preferred members.
Beginning today, US Airways will no longer charge Dividend Miles Preferred
members a $25 fee to receive a confirmed standby seat for an earlier flight
on the day of travel. No other full-service carrier offers this benefit to
all elite-level frequent flyer program members.

"Our most frequent flyers tell us that when they're traveling they need
to be able to make changes 'on the fly' and that this fee was a nuisance,"
says Travis Christ, vice president, sales and marketing for US Airways. "As
demonstrated by our recent announcement of improved in-flight services, and
our history of industry-leading innovations outlined below, US Airways is
working hard to be easy to do business with."
The current Dividend Miles program, which was formed in May 2006, is a
result of the US Airways/America West merger and brings together the best
of the pre-merger US Airways Dividend Miles program and America West's
FlightFund program. Dividend Miles' unique combination of features make it
easier and more rewarding for business and leisure travelers alike to earn
and redeem miles, including:
* Mix and match mileage redemption. Recently recognized at the Freddie
Awards, US Airways has led the industry in allowing members greater
flexibility in redeeming their miles. Since 2004, members booking
awards online have been able to redeem miles for a Coach Class ticket
in one direction and a First Class ticket in the other. It is also
possible to get a reduced-mileage Saver award in one direction and a
flexible Premium award in the other. This benefit gives members more
choices and flexibility and makes using miles for award travel more
convenient.
* Easy calendar shopping. US Airways was among the first airlines to
offer a calendar feature on its website to make shopping for an award
ticket easy by using color-coded dates to show when Saver and Premium
seats are available.
* More First Class upgrades. US Airways offers the most generous First
Class upgrade benefit of all network carriers. Preferred members are
eligible for free First Class upgrades, when available, as early as
seven days before their flight for discounted fares and any time before
their flight for unrestricted fares (Y or B fare classes).
* Automated upgrade enhancements. US Airways recently re-launched its
program that searches for First Class upgrade opportunities several
times a day and automatically upgrades Preferred members when First
Class seats are available. The system automatically notifies members by
e-mail when they are upgraded.
* Miles for online shopping. US Airways continues to expand its unique
Dividend Miles Shopping Mall, an online store where members earn up to
15 miles for each dollar spent with over 130 well-known retailers such
as Sephora, Brooks Brothers, Lands' End(R) and Staples. And US Airways
was the first airline to offer Buy Direct merchandise from retailers
like Sony and Callaway Golf Clubs.
