Stephan R. Targan, M.D. to Discuss Recent Data From Phase I / II Clinical
Trial
FREMONT, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Protein Design Labs,
Inc. (PDL) (Nasdaq: PDLI) today announced that it will conduct a live webcast
to discuss the ongoing clinical development of its Nuvion(R) (visilizumab)
antibody product for the treatment of intravenous steroid-refractory
ulcerative colitis (IVSR-UC). The live webcast will begin at 4:30 p.m.
Eastern time on May 31.
Steven Benner, M.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, will
host the update and webcast. Dr. Benner is expected to update the clinical
development plans and timelines for visilizumab, which currently is
anticipated to begin a Phase II / III clinical trial in IVSR-UC by the end of
2005.
In addition, Stephan R. Targan, M.D., Director, Cedars-Sinai Division of
Gastroenterology and Professor, UCLA School of Medicine, will discuss recently
reported data from the Phase I dose-ranging portion of a Phase I / II clinical
trial of visilizumab in IVSR-UC. Dr. Targan initially reported these data in
an oral presentation at the recently concluded Digestive Disease Week meeting.
