LONDON, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Netscape, a subsidiary of America Online
(NYSE: AOL), today announced that it has named Patrice Schneider to the
position of European General Manager for International Netcenter, one of the
leading global Internet portals. In his new role, Schneider will be
responsible for the overall growth of Netscape Netcenter Europe, directing the
sales, programming and marketing activities for the eight European Netcenter
portal sites.
Schneider brings 12 years of international management experience with
leading companies to his new position. Prior to joining Netscape, Schneider
served as Director of Global Growth Companies for The World Economic Forum, in
Geneva, which organizes the annual DAVOS Summit. Schneider's consumer media
experience includes Deputy Managing Director at Hachette Filipacchi Medias
(HFM) in Paris, where he executed successful international launches of the
online publications Elle, Elle International, Paris Match, Premier, Photo,
Joystick, Onze and Tele 7 Jours. Schneider also had responsibility for the
Minitel business at HFM. Prior to HFM, Schneider held a position as a
Director with the World Association of Newspapers.
