Geoworks' Mobile ASP(TM) Solution Chosen to Power New Wireless Data Application for Abbey National Field Staff

 Geoworks' Mobile ASP(TM) to Enable the Receipt of Time Sensitive Sales Data
                              Via Mobile Phones

    MACCLESFIELD, England, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Geoworks Corporation
(Nasdaq: GWRX), an innovator in mobile data communications services and
technologies, announced today that it has signed a definitive letter of intent
with Abbey National plc, one of the UK's leading banking organizations.  The
letter of intent states that Geoworks will provide Abbey National field staff
with a service powered by Mobile ASP(TM), Geoworks' mobile communications
solution for enterprise clients.  The new Geoworks Mobile ASP service will
enable Abbey National to send time-sensitive data to its field staff on their
mobile phones.
    With the new service, Abbey National field staff will receive updates on
the latest mortgage offers, interest rate changes and other real-time
information changes, all from simple text messages on their mobile phones.
