announced that Josephine Savastano has been named New York Commercial
Banking Market President with responsibility for Middle Market banking
activities in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Thomas Iadanza, commercial banking president of the Metro N.Y.-N.J.
Division of Sovereign, said, "With nearly 20 years of commercial banking
experience and expertise in this market, Josephine Savastano will be a
strong leader for our experienced team of relationship managers."
Savastano has held management positions of increasing levels of
responsibility in sales, marketing and risk management over the years. She
joined Sovereign Bank's SI Bank & Trust Division in 2005 as commercial
banking market president for Staten Island. She previously worked at
Citibank NA, where she was senior vice president responsible for commercial
banking in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. Among her many current civic
and community activities, Savastano is on the boards of the Staten Island
Chamber of Commerce and the Alzheimer's Foundation of Staten Island and is
a member of the Women's Scholarship Committee at her alma mater, St.
Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y.
