MILPITAS, Calif., May 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Showcasing its Platform
ASIC methodology, LSI Logic (NYSE: LSI) will demonstrate its RapidWorx design
tools June 7-10, 2004, at the Design Automation Conference, San Diego. The
RapidWorx design flow includes third-party tools from Synplicity and
TeraSystems, specifically Synplicity's Amplify RapidChip physical synthesis
product and Tera Systems' rule-checker interface tools. The RapidWorx
demonstrations will be held at the Synplicity Demo Suite (Booth #907) and the
TeraSystems Demo Suite (Booth #2523) at the San Diego Convention Center.
In addition to the demonstrations, LSI Logic workshops and panel
presentations at the Design Automation Conference include:
-- On Monday, June 7, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 6D, LSI Logic's
Kevin Cleereman and Scott Peterson, who is also chairperson of the Open
Access coalition, will present at "The Last Interoperability Workshop."
The workshop will provide an update on the interoperability movement
and discussion of how industry leading companies are addressing these
challenges. It will conclude with a panel discussion moderated by
Richard Goering, EE Times.
-- On Monday, June 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., Tim Daniels, LSI Logic
European Manager, Technology Product Marketing, will participate in a
panel, "The Semiconductor IP Business in 2004," focused on evaluating
IP quality. The panel will be held in the DAC Pavilion.
-- On Wednesday, June 9, from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. in Room 33ABC, Tom
Sandoval, LSI Logic vice president, Design Services, will discuss
real-world experiences in RTL handoff in a panel titled "Advantages of
an RTL-Handoff Methodology: Unleashing the New Wave in Silicon." The
panel will also focus on the challenges silicon virtual prototyping
presents to EDA and the implications to EDA tools and methodologies as
the industry shifts to sub-100-nanometer chips.
-- On Thursday, June 10, from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Ronnie Vasishta, LSI
Logic vice president of Technology Marketing, will participate in a
panel titled "ASIC, COT or FPGA: What should your next chip be?" The
panel, moderated by Howard Baldwin of Reed Electronics Group, will be
held in the DAC Pavilion.
