GURNEE, Ill., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- First Midwest Bank today announced
the availability of zero-interest emergency loans for victims of the Des
Plaines River flood. David DeRue, Senior Retail Sales Manager of First
Midwest Bank, made the announcement.
"We know there are many people in our community that were affected by the
flood and experienced significant physical damage who now need money quickly,
and don't have any time to shop around," said DeRue. "So we are making
available loans with no payments for six months at 0% interest to help those
individuals address their immediate needs and to get back on their feet."
The loans will be unsecured because timing is most critical and after six
months the individual's need for a longer-term solution will be considered.
"Right now, we know those affected by the flood want to repair any damage they
have experienced," DeRue said, "and we want to facilitate access to money as
quickly as possible."
The emergency loan program will be offered through the end of June and the
loan, subject to credit approval, will be processed for flood victims within
24 hours or less. Applications are available seven days a week by calling
First Midwest Bank at 1-800-241-1749. Applications are also available in all
First Midwest Bank locations.
