LEXINGTON, Mass., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (RTNA, RTNB)
today announced the appointment of Edward S. Pliner as vice president and
corporate controller. Pliner, 42, joins Raytheon from PricewaterhouseCoopers
(PWC), where he was a senior partner in the PWC technology practice and the
leader for the Raytheon account. He replaces Michele C. Heid who is leaving
the company.
Pliner has spent the last 10 years with PWC (formerly Coopers & Lybrand)
and was promoted to partner in 1995 in the PWC technology practice. In
addition to Raytheon, major clients he has worked with include Digital
Equipment Corporation; Lotus Development; BJ's Wholesale Clubs and the TJX
Companies. In the 1980s, Pliner worked on several political campaigns,
including as finance director for the presidential campaign of Michael Dukakis
in 1987-88.
Pliner earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Tufts
University and holds an MBA from Harvard. He is a certified public accountant.
