WICHITA, Kan., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Aircraft Company recently
celebrated the rollout of its 400th Beech 1900D Airliner.
Approximately 200 employees on the 1900D production line as well as
support employees marked the event at a luncheon on March 21 at company
headquarters. Employees signed a banner that will be presented to CommutAir,
which is scheduled to take delivery of the commemorative aircraft this
fall.Raytheon Aircraft began producing the 1900D in 1991. It was preceded by
the 1900C, of which 248 were manufactured from 1984-1991. The original model
1900 was first produced in 1983.The Beech 1900D provides up to 19 passengers
with a spacious stand-up pressurized cabin with airline-style accommodations,
including reclining seats, armrests, tray tables and underseat storage. The
aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67D turboprop engines
providing a maximum cruise speed of 283 knots (316 mph) and maximum altitude
of 25,000 feet. Standard avionics include dual electronic flight instrument
system (EFIS), cockpit voice and flight data recorders (CVR/FDR), ground
proximity warning systems (GPWS), traffic alert and collision avoidance (TCAS)
and color digital weather radar.
