American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEOS) today announced total sales for
the four weeks ended May 27, 2000 increased 19.1% to $62.1 million from
$52.2 million for the four-week period ended May 29, 1999. Same store sales
for the 2000 period decreased 1.0% compared to the corresponding four-week
period last year.
Sales for the seventeen-week period ended May 27, 2000 increased 21.5% to
$240.1 million from $197.6 million for the seventeen-week period ended May 29,
1999. Same store sales for the 2000 period rose 2.7% compared to the
corresponding seventeen-week period last year.
