Lucent Technologies to Discuss New Next-Generation Networking Vision at GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006 Event

     Lucent also will demonstrate IMS-based applications, IPTV, gaming,
 security, carrier Ethernet and network transformation in its booth at the
                                    show

    MURRAY HILL, N.J., May 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lucent Technologies
(NYSE: LU) will discuss a new next generation networking (NGN) vision and
network transformation services at GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006.
    John Meyer, president, Lucent Technologies Global Sales and Services,
and a trio of Lucent executives will co-host a news conference on June 5 at
GLOBALCOMM(TM) in Chicago to discuss the new vision and network
transformation services. John Leonard, vice president, Business Strategy
and Offer Management, Lucent Technologies Network Solutions Group, will
present the vision during the news conference to be held in the conference
center (Room CC23) across from Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.
    Media, and industry and financial analysts, who are unable to attend in
person, are invited to listen to the news conference that will be webcast

    At GLOBALCOMM 2006, in booth 13015, Lucent will demonstrate its
solutions and technology for the IMS service architecture, enterprise and

    * MiViewTV(TM) / Enhanced IP Multimedia TV -- Lucent IPTV enabled by IMS
      to provide a highly personalized experience that involves user
      preferences, presence and location capabilities seamlessly blended
      between the TV, PDA and wireless laptop.
    * IPTV Infrastructure -- key infrastructure technologies that ensure
      service quality and efficient transport of next generation video
      services, includes live demonstration of the Lucent Multimedia Access
      Platform and Lucent's new IP video middleware platform.
    * IPTV and IMS Interworking -- IPTV Caller-ID on TV with call handling --
      enabled by IMS Service Broker
    * Gaming -- real-time multiparty gaming application with enhanced
      functionality such as delivering scores via SMS or to voice mail.
    * Push to X -- Lucent Bell Labs shows how to get people and applications
      connected quickly by leveraging human factors engineering, traffic
      optimization and personalization.
    * Data Management / Identity Management -- Lucent technology enables
      single point of access to subscriber data.
    * VoIP for Enterprise -- IMS Enabled Solutions for the Enterprise and
      Hosted VoIP
    * VoIP for Consumer -- IMS Enabled Solutions for Consumers
    * IMS Applications -- blended lifestyle services that include Lucent
      iLocator and Lucent Active PhoneBook
    * Lucent and IBM Application -- interworking Lucent's Active PhoneBook and

      IMS-based network, including information on the five inter-related
      dimensions of migration.
    * Network Optimization / Dynamic Optimization -- customized solution that
      enables the customer's network to be tuned for peak efficiency.
    * Security Solutions -- end-to-end security portfolio that includes the
      newest member of Lucent's VPN/firewall family of products.  Includes
      live demonstration of QoS bandwidth optimization, live system failover,
      and remote management functionality.
