`Rosco' and `Hawk3' Victorious in The Advent Championships of the AMD PGL(TM)
E3 Crowds Witness Pro League's Second Season Finals in Atlanta
SAN FRANCISCO, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The AMD(R) Professional Gamers'
League(TM) (PGL(TM)) today announced that it crowned its Season 2 champions at
The Advent Championships of the AMD PGL(TM). Held in InterAct's booth at the
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the final rounds of the PGL's inaugural
season pitted the top 16 computer gamers in North America against each other
in two game categories, Action and Strategy. The winner in the Action
category (represented by id Software's Quake(R) II) was Danny Alires, known by
his online screen name, "Rosco." The Strategy category (Cavedog
Entertainment's Total Annihilation(TM)) winner was Sean Flanagan, known online
as "Hawk3." Each category champion won $7,500 in cash and more than $5,000 in
prizes, including PCs powered by the revolutionary new AMD-K6-2. In all, more
than $65,000 in cash and prizes was awarded to the finalists, including eight
fully-loaded computers.
Consisting of a double-elimination, LAN-based tournament supported by the
3M Volition System, the two-day championship event was seen by thousands of
the attendees at E3, the computer and videogame industry's annual gathering

http://www.pgl.com and either subscribe to the TEN service or pay the PGL
entry fee of $9.95 per three-month season. Registration will open shortly for
PGL Season 3, with the month-long qualification period beginning in early
July.
