Who: Dr. Bing Sheu, a Fellow of the IEEE and Nassda's Senior Director
of Technology Relationship and Device Modeling, is the recipient
of the 2004 IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society Meritorious
Service Award.
What: The Meritorious Service Award honors a person with outstanding
long-term service to the welfare of the CAS Society. The award is
based on dedication, effort and contributions of a member of the
society.
When: The Meritorious Service Award will be presented to Dr. Sheu at the
Design Automation Conference during the Opening Session on
Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 8:30 AM in Ballroom 20ABC of the
San Diego Convention Center.
Sheu receives this award in recognition of his outstanding long-term
service to the welfare of the CAS Society, including his role as
Vice-President for Conferences in 1998, President of the CAS Society in 2000,
Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems in 1997-98, and as Voting
Representative to DAC Executive Committee in 2001.
The CAS Society is a part of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic
Engineers (IEEE), which is a non-profit, technical professional association of
more than 380,000 individual members in 150 countries. The interests of the
Society are the theory, analysis, design (computer aided design), and
practical implementations of circuits, and the application of circuit
