The Lycos 50 for Week Ending May 28, 2005

    WALTHAM, Mass., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Lycos, Inc.(http://www.lycos.com),

The Lycos 50(TM) Top 10 Search Terms for the Week Ending May 28, 2005:

     1) Star Wars 3 6) Diets
     2) Paris Hilton 7) Poker
     3) Pamela Anderson 8) WWE
     4) American Idol 9) Lindsay Lohan
     5) Britney Spears 10) Danica Patrick

    Notes of Interest:
Indy 500 rookie race car driver Danica Patrick (#10) drove herself to a
157 percent increase in search traffic to make her first-ever appearance on
this week's Lycos 50. The 23-year-old Patrick made racing history, even
though she didn't win the legendary competition, stealing the show this past
weekend, proving she has a talent for racing, in addition to her beauty. The
viewing audience was equally delighted with Patrick, as the television ratings
for the Indy 500 where the highest since 1997.

    Other Notes of Interest:
The Power of the Force continues as Star Wars 3, The Revenge of the Sith
(#1), retains its hold on web users, taking the number one spot in the box
office, and online, for the second straight week. The success of the film has
also boosted both Natalie Portman (#24) and Hayden Christensen (#27) to The
Lycos 50. It remains to be seen if SW3 will continue its run at number one.
If so, it will outlast Star Wars Episode 2, which was the number one search
term with web users for only two weeks in 2002. Meanwhile, Powerball (#18)
mania is once again sweeping the country as a 30-something resident of
Boise, Idaho won a record $220 million jackpot for Idaho, and the 10th largest
prize ever awarded by the multi-state lottery.
