It's All In The Family: Ruth Cain and Her Daughters Nancy and Carol Speak On Their Respective Careers in the Field of Communications

    DETROIT, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruth and Charlie Cain, both professionals
in the field of communications, produced seven children, six of which are also
working in the field of communications.  It must be in the genes!
    Women in Communications of Detroit is proud to present Ruth and her two
daughters, Nancy and Carol for an evening of great stories and memories of
their experiences in the field of communications.
    The evening's event will take place at the Fairlane Club, 5000 Fairlane
Woods Drive, Dearborn, Michigan 48126 on June 14, 2005.   A wine reception and
registration begin at 5:15 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m. with the panel
discussion at 7 p.m.
    A former Headliner Award recipient (1984), Ruth Cain is currently senior
columnist with the Grosse Pointe News.  Her distinguished career has included
22 years in Public Relations at Blue Cross/Blue Shield where she won a number
of awards for her achievements.  She also reported for Business Week Magazine
and the Associated Press.  A graduate of Wayne State University, she is listed
in the "Who's Who of American Women."
    Carol Cain is a columnist at the Detroit Free press covering small
business.  She was named assistant national editor in 1996 where she oversaw
the daily coverage of national, international and political issues including
September 11, 2001 and the Iraq war.  Her business column for the Detroit News
has appeared in 90 other papers, and she has worked as a reporter and editor
at United Press International's Detroit bureau.  She currently hosts "Michigan
Matters" on CBS Detroit and UPN 50, along with other commentating engagements
on CNN, WJR-AM, WWJ-AM, C-SPAN and other local national broadcast programs.
    Nancy Cain is currently Public Relations Manager at AAA of Michigan.  She
joined the firm as a contributing editor in Public Relations in 1982.  Prior
to joining AAA, she covered business and education as a staff writer for six
years at the Macomb Daily Newspaper in Mount Clemens.  She was the first woman
to serve as a two-year president of the Detroit Chapter of the Society of
Professional Journalists, and was active on the Detroit Press Club board where
she served six years as director.  She and her staff have won many
professional honors, including two "North Star" Awards of Excellence from the
Public Relations Society of America.
