ORLANDO, Fla., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- With Hurricane Katrina a not-so-
distant memory, disaster planners may be approaching the official start of
the 2006 Hurricane Season today with a sense of foreboding, but disaster
and program management firm Beck Disaster Recovery, Inc. encourages them to
channel that dread into action.

"Last year, no one could have fathomed that the largest natural
disaster to impact the U.S. would materialize," says Jonathan Burgiel,
Chief Executive Officer of Beck Disaster Recovery. "Hurricane Katrina
served as a 'wake-up call' to communities to take the threat of hurricanes
seriously, and to be prepared."
As predicted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (
http://www.noaa.gov ), the 2006 Hurricane Season, which runs through Nov.
30, may be very active with 13 to 16 named storms, and, of those, four to
six could become major hurricanes of Category 3 strength or higher.
"With the prediction of another active hurricane season, it is
imperative for communities to plan ahead so that, in the event of a
hurricane or any natural disaster, communities are ready to begin the
recovery process immediately -- to hit the ground running," Burgiel adds.
"With the season upon us, it is not too late for pre-planning activities."
In addition to providing comprehensive pre-planning services, Beck
Disaster Recovery has more than 300 employees positioned along the Gulf
Coast to aid with the ongoing cleanup efforts from the 2005 season.
The most active Atlantic hurricane season in nearly 150 years, 2005 saw
28 named storms and 15 hurricanes including Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and
Wilma.
Beck Disaster Recovery, Inc. ( http://www.beckdr.com ), a wholly owned
