Westinghouse Appoints David Howell Vice President of Field Services

    PITTSBURGH, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Westinghouse Electric Company today
announced the appointment of David Howell to the position of vice president
of Field Services for its Nuclear Services business unit.
    In his new position, Mr. Howell will be responsible for executive
oversight for Westinghouse's global Field Services business, which offers
complete outage support, advanced products, nuclear power plant component
services, and training to customers worldwide. Westinghouse Field Services
is a technological leader in the nuclear industry with developments such as
robotics and remotely-operated tooling and advanced non-destructive
examination, inspection, maintenance and repair equipment.
    During his 25 years with Westinghouse, Mr. Howell has held engineering
and field operations management positions for business lines related to
reactor vessel and steam generator inspection and repair for pressurized
water reactor nuclear steam supply systems. He served as acting vice
president of Field Services from June 2003 to July 2004, during the
company-wide rollout of Customer 1st, Westinghouse's initiative which is
aimed at improving the way Westinghouse executes jobs and ensuring that
customers' dealings with Westinghouse are as pleasant as possible.
    Mr. Howell's appointment is effective August 1, 2007. He currently is
the Customer 1st deployment director for Westinghouse's Nuclear Fuel
business, with responsibility for driving the implementation of Customer
1st throughout that business.
    Mr. Howell holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from
Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. He is a registered professional
engineer in Pennsylvania.
