NASHUA, N.H., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- GN Netcom, a world leader in
professional telecommunication headsets for the telephone and computer
industries, announces the purchase of ACS Wireless, Inc., a major, US-based,
headset manufacturer, for $15.7 M. The purchase is subject to ACS stockholder
approval, which is expected by the beginning of July. A new company, GN
Netcom, Inc., will be formed by the merger of GN Netcom's North American
organization, GN Netcom/Unex Inc. and ACS Wireless, Inc. The new company will
be headed by P. Michael Fairweather as President and CEO, a position he held
previously with GN Netcom/Unex Inc. The company plans to continue operations
in both Nashua, New Hampshire and Scotts Valley, California.
The merger significantly expands GN Netcom's North American and world
market share, and enhances its position as the fastest-growing manufacturer of
quality headsets. The new company, GN Netcom, Inc., now offers the most
extensive selection of innovative telephone and computer headsets for the call
center, commercial, mobile, and consumer markets. Products will continue to
be sold under the GN Netcom, UNEX, and ACS brands through extensive worldwide
distribution.
