WARRENDALE, Pa., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.
(Nasdaq: AEOS) today announced total sales for the four fiscal weeks ended
May 29, 1999 increased 39.8% to $52.2 million from $37.3 million for the four
week period ended May 30, 1998. Comparable sales for the 1999 period were up
18.7% compared to the corresponding four week period last year.
Sales for the seventeen weeks ended May 29, 1999 were $197.6 million
compared to the $137.0 million for the seventeen week period last year, an
increase of 44.2%. Comparable store sales for the seventeen weeks ended
May 29, 1999 increased 25.1% compared to the corresponding seventeen week
period ended May 30, 1998.
