CHICAGO, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Media Services, the syndication
and licensing unit of Tribune Company, today announced at the 61st World
Newspaper Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, its international syndication
of Samantha Power's TIME magazine column on world affairs.
Acknowledged as one of the most respected new voices in foreign-policy
analysis, Power, 37, is Professor of Practice of Global Leadership and
Public Policy at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
She also served as foreign-policy adviser to Democratic presidential
candidate Barack Obama.
Power is the author of two best-selling books, including "'A Problem
from Hell': America and the Age of Genocide," which won the Pulitzer in
2002. Her latest best-seller, "Chasing the Flame: Sergio Vieira de Mello
and the Fight to Save the World," chronicles the life of a U.N. diplomat
from Brazil who was killed in a suicide bombing of U.N. headquarters in
Baghdad in 2003.
TMS will have exclusive rights to sell her TIME column to international
markets, according to Mary Elson, TMS managing editor. "We are thrilled to

Power became a TIME columnist in 2007 and has covered such subjects as
Canada's role in the war in Afghanistan, implications of continuing ethnic
