SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- CBS MarketWatch, the recently
announced joint venture between CBS News and Data Broadcasting Corporation,
has appointed Thom Calandra as editor-in-chief of MarketWatch.com, the premier
Internet financial supersite. Calandra brings over 17 years of experience
writing about financial markets and companies in the U.S. and Europe to this
position. As editor-in-chief, he will direct the company's growing news
operation, which currently consists of about twenty journalists located across
the U.S. in San Mateo, Calif., Los Angeles, Washington and New York. Calandra
will also oversee expansion into new media outlets, specifically radio and
television, in support of CBS News.
Prior to joining CBS MarketWatch, Calandra developed and launched Data
Broadcasting Corp.'s DBC News with DBC Vice President Larry Kramer in spring
1996. Calandra was responsible for developing new editorial products and
directing online reporters and editors in San Mateo, Los Angeles, Washington
and New York.

Calandra holds a master's degree in English from the University of Arizona
and a bachelor's degree of arts from City University of New York at Brooklyn
College.
