SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- CBS MarketWatch, the recently
announced joint venture between CBS News and Data Broadcasting Corporation,
has named Bill Bishop as vice president of business development. Bishop has
several years of experience developing strategic alliances. In his new
position, he is responsible for identifying potential strategic business
partners in the areas of Internet content, transactions and marketing, and
developing those relationships.
Previously, Bishop served as director of DBC's online group. In this
capacity, he wrote the company's Internet strategic and business plan and set
the overall direction for DBC's Internet site, which Barron's recently named
as one of the best web sites for investors. Prior to this position, Bishop
worked as assistant to the president. He first joined DBC in 1995 to work on
business development in the Asia-Pacific region.

During his career, Bishop has worked for CBS News in China on several
occasions, most notably as a interpreter/fixer during CBS' coverage of the
1989 pro-Democracy demonstrations in Beijing.
Bishop holds a Master of Arts degree in International Economics from the
Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a
Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies from Middlebury College.
