SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- A recent study by Federal-Mogul
Corporation reveals that automotive design engineers can achieve four times
better abrasion resistance with Federal-Mogul's NyloGard(TM) 2452 nylon woven
sleeving than with competing textile sleeving products.

NyloGard 2452's superior abrasion resistance was determined by the weight
loss of a number of protective sleeving products in abrasion testing conducted
by Federal-Mogul's Systems Protection group in Exton, Pennsylvania. The
weight loss was measured after 50,000 cycles on an SAE ARP 1536A abrasion
tester.
NyloGard 2452 is custom-designed to provide enhanced abrasion protection
over hoses, cables, wires, and other applications that are vulnerable to
chafing and other damage in rugged environments. Tightly woven from high-
density nylon yarns, NyloGard 2452's dense construction provides maximum
coverage of the hoses and cables it protects, assuring enhanced abrasion and
cut-through resistance. Automotive design engineers who use NyloGard 2452 in
their products can extend the service life of the protected component and
reduce the costs associated with hose replacements.
In addition, Federal-Mogul's NyloGard 2452 is fluid resistant and flame
retardant, and can withstand temperatures as high as 250 degrees F. NyloGard
2452 also demonstrates excellent low temperature flexibility to -94 degrees F.
The sleeving is available in a variety of sizes, and custom printing is
available.
