SAN FRANCISCO, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- GATX Capital Corporation today
announced the appointment of Catherine Shachat to senior vice president and
managing director - Human Resources. Ms. Shachat will be responsible for
providing leadership for GATX Capital's human resources team in the San
Francisco office and for GATX Capital's expanding operations.
Ms. Shachat joined GATX in 1984 as manager of compensation and three years
later joined the Company's Corporate Finance group as an associate director.
She was promoted to director in 1988 and became a vice president in 1992. As
a member of the Transportation Finance group, she was responsible for pursuing
operating lease opportunities. In 1999, Ms. Shachat joined the Executive
group as a managing director, development. In 2000, she joined the Venture
Finance group as a managing director, where she integrated the diverse
activities of the group into a cohesive business unit, in addition to
development and management of the Company's international Venture Finance
joint ventures.
Prior to joining GATX, Ms. Shachat was the manager of expatriate
compensation at Bank of America and was a consultant at Oxicon. She earned a
BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA from the
University of California at Berkeley.
