- Oxford Health Plans Co-Branding Health Information with KidsHealth -
TRUMBULL, Conn., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Oxford Health Plans, Inc.
(NYSE: OHP) today announced that it had signed a one-year licensing agreement
with KidsHealth(R) to expand health information available in the "oxfordhealth
Center" of its web site - http://www.oxfordhealth.com. Oxford estimates that
more than 30,000 of its members are parents or soon-to-be parents.
KidsHealth will provide information on a variety of parenting issues and
topics, including emotion and behavior, growth and development, immunization,
nutrition, and fitness. In addition to more general health topics, Oxford
members will have access to these special features:
-- Medical Research News for Parents contains summaries of current
research from pediatric journals that are "translated" into easy-to-
understand terms.
-- Pregnancy & Newborns features more than 100 articles on pregnancy and
post-pregnancy topics, and includes a week-by-week pregnancy calendar
for expecting and new parents
-- In the Spotlight features information on in-the-news and seasonal
issues like school violence and flu outbreaks
-- Tip of the Day for parents
In addition, new or expectant parents can sign up for a free subscription
to New Parents eNews. Each e-newsletter contains stage-specific information
on health, nutrition, learning and development, and information from the
Oxford Healthy Mother, Healthy Baby(SM) program. Subscribers receive regular
newsletters via e-mail that are specific to their stage of new parenthood from
the first trimester of pregnancy through the toddler years.
