Mattel, Inc. Donates $50,000 to Earthquake Disaster Relief in Indonesia

 Save the Children Will Direct Funds to Immediate Relief Efforts and School
                                 Rebuilding

    EL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- In response to the
devastation caused by the powerful earthquake in Indonesia on May 27,
Mattel, Inc. today announced a cash donation of $50,000 to Save the
Children. Funds will be put toward immediate relief efforts and to support
the establishment of temporary schools in the affected areas. In addition,
the Mattel Children's Foundation will open its Matching Gifts program
internationally for disaster relief donations.

need, particularly children and families, during this difficult time," said

Relief will match, dollar for dollar, any donation made by a Mattel, Inc.
employee for disaster relief efforts. International employee donations will
be matched to corresponding US-based charities for earthquake relief
programs.
