Liberty Acquires Connecticut CU Association Creative Division, Announces New Marketing Initiatives

Agreement Means Additional Marketing Products, Services for Credit Unions

WALLINGFORD, Conn., June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- In yet another dramatic step to
provide credit unions with the latest in turnkey marketing solutions and
technology, Liberty has acquired the Connecticut Credit Union Association's
(CCUA's) marketing services unit. The agreement creates the latest Liberty
Marketing Center, this one for Connecticut and other East Coast credit unions.
The new Liberty Marketing Center will allow credit unions in the region to
take advantage of Liberty's marketing technologies, including a new Web site
for smaller credit unions and a range of marketing services ranging from MCIF
to digital direct mail.
According to Kevin M. Stewart, president and CEO of CCUA, the transfer of
marketing services to Liberty means the association can focus all of its
financial and human resources on its core association activities, with the
assurance member credit unions are being served with valued marketing
solutions.
"We're delighted to announce this agreement which ensures Connecticut
credit unions will be able to even better serve their members through the use
of Liberty's cutting-edge marketing services," said Stewart. "An integral
part of the CCUA's long-range plan is to concentrate our efforts on our core
association activities -- governmental relations, regulatory compliance,
education, communications, public relations and dues-supported member
services. This partnership with Liberty allows us to do just that."
Lisa Lathe, former CCUA Advertising and Endorsed Products Manager, will
continue her key leadership role as Product and Regional Business Director of
the new Liberty Marketing Center. Lathe started her CCUA career in 1995, and
has directed the association's advertising, marketing and creative efforts.
She has also served as CCUA's Webmaster.
"Liberty Marketing East is another significant step as we build a system
throughout the U.S. to offer credit unions the best and most effective
marketing technology and services," said Robert D. Anderson, President and CEO
of Liberty.
"Our Connecticut marketing center will build on the strong creative base
of CCUA, and soon add MCIF, Outsource Marketing, direct marketing and other
fulfillment capabilities. We expect that we will add staff, new offices and
additional services and technology -- just as we have in the Liberty Marketing
Centers in Los Angeles and St. Louis.
"We welcome the new creative team from CCUA and the deep commitment of
CCUA and its management team to find the best marketing solutions and value
for Connecticut and other credit unions in the region," Anderson said.
Liberty will make a rapid start by offering a new "CharterBranch" Web site
hosting service that will allow smaller credit unions to transition affordably
into the world of the Internet.
"This is a natural step, as we will also be providing a new Web site for
CCUA itself," Anderson added.
The new offering, a streamlined version of Liberty's Web site capabilities
currently offered, will feature three loan calculators, a "rate changer" that
posts current interest information, printable loan application forms, dynamic
graphics choices, and expert consultation from Liberty Online staff.
"CharterBranch" will be available to credit unions later this summer.
Liberty also announced upcoming availability of another online marketing
service that will feature a full library of direct marketing content for
credit unions. Liberty Creative, one of the credit union movement's top
providers of variable content direct mail materials and campaigns, is
introducing an Internet product aimed at a targeted marketing need.
"Speed, accessibility and the availability of Liberty Creative's expertise
combine to make this product an effective marketing alternative for small- to
medium-sized credit unions," Anderson said. "This is the first time a product
has been offered to the credit union movement where a credit union of any size
can produce fully customized, professionally written direct mail strategies.
The product will be available in late July."
