Aware Features Technician Dr. DSL at OSP Expo 2006

Advanced diagnostics software for field technicians enables efficient
                              troubleshooting

BEDFORD, Mass., June 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aware, Inc. (Nasdaq:
AWRE), a worldwide leader and innovator of broadband intellectual property,
today announced that it is featuring its Technician Dr. DSL(R) this week at
OSP Expo (Booth #67030) in Chicago. This advanced diagnostic software
enables field technicians to efficiently troubleshoot common DSL problems
by identifying their source and calculating the data rate impact of each
disturber. By combining the raw diagnostic data in an ADSL/ADSL2+ modem
with advanced interpretation software running on a technician's laptop,
Technician Dr. DSL provides a cost-effective field test solution suitable
for technicians of all skill levels.
In Aware's OSP booth attendees will have a first-hand look at version
2.1 of Aware's Technician Dr. DSL field test software. New features include
Dr. DSL's Quick Test display that provides key physical and IP/ATM layer
analysis on one page, eliminating the need for technicians to drill down
through multiple menus. Dr. DSL's SmartRx(TM) calculates the severity of
problems and highlights each in red, yellow or green for easy analysis.
Technician Dr. DSL 2.1 also adds customizable service-level qualification
that provides technicians with a simple "go/no-go" decision for a carrier's
service offerings.
"As we upgrade our copper networks to deploy high-bandwidth,
next-generation services such as IPTV, there is an increasing need for
portable outside plant diagnostics tools that can cost-effectively identify
and diagnose the root cause of network trouble," said Dino Corazza, TELUS
manager of broadband access technology. "Aware's Technician Dr. DSL
solution has the features and functionality that enable us to quickly
identify network faults and determine the best course of action which, in
turn, improves productivity and leads to higher quality service for our
customers."
Also at OSP Expo, Aware's Product Line Manager, Jim Wahl, will present,
"VDSL2: The New Outside Plant -- Inside the Home," today, Tuesday, June 6,
2006 at 2:30 p.m. This session will look at how outside plant problems,
such as short taps, crosstalk noise from other circuits, MDU/MTU wiring and
home wiring configurations, impact VDSL2 data rates, and discusses which
ones can be prevented and how to provide a buffer for future service
assurance.
Aware's Technician Dr. DSL is featured in Aware's booth at OSP Expo
(#67030) from June 5 - 7, 2006 in Chicago. For more information on Aware or
