Startech Environmental Appoints Distributor For Australia And New Zealand

Company Receives Quarter Million Dollars For Distributorship

WILTON, Conn., June 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Startech Environmental
Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: STHK), a fully reporting company, today
announced Plastech Solutions, Ltd. of New South Wales, Australia, as its
exclusive distributor for the territories of Australia and New Zealand. The
Company has received a $250,000 irrevocable payment from Plastech for the
distributorship.
The Agreement requires Plastech to contract for a 10 ton-per-day Plasma
Converter System (PCS) by October 30, 2004, to serve as its demonstration
system in its processing center and showroom. In addition, the agreement also
requires Plastech to purchase a minimum number of PCSs in the following years
to maintain the distributorship.
"This distributor agreement is further evidence that the world is taking
notice of Startech's value proposition," said Joseph F. Longo, chairman and
COO of Startech Environmental. "Waste should be viewed as a desirable,
renewable resource rather than an insurmountable problem. Instead of putting
trash in a hole in the ground and burning it, Startech's Plasma Converter
System safely and irreversibly destroys wastes of all kinds and transforms
them into valuable commodities, such as hydrogen, that can be used or sold by
the customer for a profit."
