Thomas O. Daniel, M.D., Appointed to Lead New Vascular Biology Research and Development Initiatives at Immunex

  New Focus Expands Cancer, Kidney and Vascular Research to Drug Development
                                   Programs

    SEATTLE, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas O. Daniel, M.D., is the new vice
president of vascular biology, discovery research, at Immunex Corporation
(Nasdaq: IMNX), the company announced today.  Dr. Daniel is building the new
vascular biology department at the company, utilizing his broad background and
expertise in the areas of cancer, renal and vascular biology.
    Prior to joining Immunex, Dr. Daniel was Director of the Vanderbilt
University Center for Vascular Biology and Professor of Medicine and Cell
Biology.  He received a B.A. in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University,
Dallas, TX and an M.D. from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School,
Dallas, TX.
