Starwood Announces Its First Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Brazil

   Four Points Curitiba Offers Ideal Accommodations for Business Travelers

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Starwood Hotels & Resorts
Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) has signed a franchise agreement with Atlantica
Hotels International (Brasil) Ltda. for the operation by Atlantica of a new
hotel in the model city of Curitiba, located in southeastern Brazil.  The Four
Points Hotel Curitiba is now open, and includes 176 guestrooms featuring
broadband internet connections, along with a 3-meal restaurant featuring
Mediterranean cuisine, meeting facilities to accommodate up to 750 guests, a
business center, fitness center and indoor swimming pool.  The hotel is
located a short distance from the downtown area, at Avenida Sete de Setembro
and is the first internationally flagged hotel to enter the city of Curitiba
known for its automobile production industry.
    The launching of this hotel represents Starwood's first Four Points by
Sheraton hotel in Brazil, and Starwood's first franchised property in Brazil.
Starwood and Atlantica are working toward a broader agreement to include
additional franchises for apart-hotels in Brazil to be operated primarily
under the Four Points by Sheraton brand.
