Peritus AutoEnhancer/2000 to Be Used to Expedite Year 2000 Renovations
BILLERICA, Mass., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Peritus Software Services, Inc.,
(Nasdaq: PTUS) a leading provider of solutions for software maintenance, today
announced that HCL America has selected the Peritus AutoEnhancer/2000(TM) to
use in their Year 2000 service offerings. HCL selected the AutoEnhancer/2000
because it can reliably and efficiently manage the Year 2000 renovations of
large information systems. HCL America will use the AutoEnhancer/2000 to
expedite Year 2000 renovations and maintain their ISO 9001 certification
standards. The critical activity in addressing the Year 2000 problem is
accurately and completely identifying the date-sensitive items in software
applications. The advanced technology used in the AutoEnhancer/2000 employs
an accurate, automated method of identifying date-sensitive items by their use
and format, rather than simply by their names. The AutoEnhancer/2000 then
uses the comprehensive information gathered in the identification process to
perform the Year 2000 corrections.
"At HCL America, quality and customer service are the main components of
our Quality Policy. Peritus was subjected to our rigorous evaluation process
and their tool offered the quality that HCL America demands for our
customers," said Gyan Aggarwal, business manager. "The high quality level of
date-sensitive variable identification in the AutoEnhancer/2000 will reduce
the amount of testing required, further strengthening the HCL America Year
2000 solutions."
Using the AutoEnhancer/2000, HCL can offer its clients a choice of having
software applications renovated via logic correction, date expansion, or a
hybrid approach. All three correction strategies are widely accepted and
proven effective for solving the Year 2000 problem in software.
"Peritus is pleased to add HCL America to our Powered by Peritus partner
program," said Gareth Taube, VP Worldwide Marketing at Peritus. "The
combination of HCL's expertise combined with the AutoEnhancer/2000 accuracy
creates a 'best-of-breed' solution for HCL clients.
