At 2003 PTC/USER 'Wings of Invention' Conference: PTC's CPO Jim Heppelmann Demonstrates Industry's First Integral Product Development System

Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and Windchill-based System Makes PLM Initiatives
                                  Achievable

NEEDHAM, Mass., June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the
product development company(TM), today provided more than 900 customers with a
demonstration of its Product Development System, based on the recently
released Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire(TM) and the company's Windchill(R) solutions.
Speaking before the annual PTC/USER "Wings of Invention" Conference in
Orlando, Florida, PTC EVP and Chief Product Officer James Heppelmann also
presented PTC's Product Development System Roadmap, which is designed to
ensure that PTC customers realize the full value of their investment in PTC
solutions in their quest to bring great products to market.
"The process of conceiving, defining, building, shipping and maintaining a
product is incredibly complex and diverse," Heppelmann said. "For these
processes to be effective and optimized, manufactures require an integral set
of solutions configured together to form a complete product development
system."
The PTC Product Development System is a certified configuration of
specific PTC solution versions that are designed and tested together to
deliver complete system support for specific product development processes.
"By bringing together Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and our Windchill solutions, PTC
has created an integral Product Development System that makes Product
Lifecycle Management (PLM) an approachable, low risk pursuit for companies of
all sizes," Heppelmann noted.
The 2003 PTC/USER Conference features more than 80 technical and business
presentation sessions, seminars, tutorials and demonstrations. Highlights of
this year's event include keynote addresses by Apollo and Space Shuttle
Astronaut and aerospace executive, Ken Mattingly, and Steelcase Chief
Information Officer, John Dean. The program also includes a presentation by
Scott Sullivan, the author of Virtual Apollo, a book that recreates all of the
Apollo Program space vehicle designs using Pro/ENGINEER.
