ENGLEWOOD, CO USA
CSG Cited as Only Billing Vendor to View EBPP and Self-Care Applications as
Integral Part of Billing and Customer Care Product Portfolio

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CSG Systems
(Nasdaq: CSGS), a leading global provider of customer care and billing
solutions, today announced that it has received Frost & Sullivan's 2004
Vertical Market Strategy award in recognition of the company's
industry-leading approach to integrating electronic bill payment and customer
self-care applications across its entire billing and customer care product
portfolio.

The award cites CSG as "the only billing software company to offer a
viable combined EBPP and self-care solution to go along with its entire suite
of billing solutions for the communications industry."
The Frost & Sullivan Vertical Market Strategy Awards are given each year
to the company that has been the most effective in penetrating their
industry's vertical markets. The selection criteria for the award is based on
the company's market presence, market share and overall effectiveness in
deploying a vertical market strategy.
Frost & Sullivan cited CSG's comprehensive offering worldwide and its
successful deployment of its EBPP and self-care solutions into its entire
customer base as the main factors for bestowing the honor upon CSG.
"CSG Systems has a marketable advantage in the communications vertical
because it understands the needs of operators in the telecommunications
industry. By incorporating and fully integrating EBPP and self-care solutions
into its billing and customer care product portfolio, CSG has demonstrated it
can quickly and cost-effectively help operators deploy tools that deliver
better customer service at a lower overall cost," said Dan Longfield, senior
analyst, Frost & Sullivan.
"CSG has consistently placed a strategic importance on providing
electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) and customer self-care tools
within its product suites as a part of a comprehensive approach to helping
operators deliver a cost-effective and high-quality customer service
experience," said Darla Thompson, vice president of product management, CSG
Systems. "We believe the success of our strategy is evident in the rapid
adoption among our customer base of these solutions, and we are honored to be
recognized by Frost & Sullivan as the billing vendor leading the industry with
this approach."
CSG offers two distinct EBPP and self-care solutions to its customer base,
CSG(R) Care Express and CSG(R) Total Care.
Designed for North American broadband and direct broadcast satellite (DBS)
providers, CSG(R) Care Express enables online customer self-care and is
tightly integrated with CSG's outsourced billing and customer care platform.
Currently, new customers are signing up for CSG(R) Care Express services
at a rate of over 5,000 new users per day -- a greater than five and one-half
percent overall adoption rate, well above the industry average of three
percent.
In addition to high adoption rates and reduced calls to the call center,
CSG customers save costs associated with printing and mailing hard copy
statements. Among the more than 1.6 million registered users nationwide,
approximately 730,000 have elected to suppress their hard copy statement,
saving providers nearly $3.7 million dollars annually in postage and printing
costs alone.
By encouraging customers to use the Web site for new connect and services
update orders, CSG estimates that a provider serving 500,000 end subscribers
can save over $85,000 dollars in the first 12 months.
In addition, CSG offers CSG(R) Total Care to its Kenan customer base
worldwide. CSG Total Care provides the operator with comprehensive customer
profile management capabilities, including a single view of the customer that
allows for seamless sales and marketing, customer care, billing and
fulfillment. Especially important for mobile operators as they seek new ways
to retain customers and improve avenue revenue per user (ARPU), a single view
of the customer can make retention strategies more effective and help build
customer loyalty.
CSG Total Care is integrated with the Kenan FX business framework,
enabling an operator to quickly deploy the online bill presentment and
payment, customer profile management and self-care tools within their existing
framework. CSG Total Care also is sold as a standalone product that works
with any billing system.
